I think it has a lot to with pitching coach Rick Kranitz.
Instead of getting his pitchers to work on fancy crap like Mazzone's "low and away", he has them throw what they're good at.
Has Cabrera even thrown anything but his fastball this season?

More fastball, less slider. It only took him how long to figure out?
2008: 86% fastball, 3% change, 10% slider.
2007: 72% fastball, 2% change, 22% slider.

I enjoy seeing no-hitters, but put a picture-in-picture on the screen when you are broadcasting a game that is three to two at the time when you interrupt it. Or show me constant updates on the screen for the game that you have interrupted, which you failed to do. When you do go to the no-hitter, put the game I was watching back on once the third out is made, which you failed to do. Really fucking annoying.

Since your dvr ran out, the cubs won 7-2.

The dvr didn't really run out...the recording is based on the schedule, and by all means, the game should have been over by the time the "taping" stopped. I think it should tape the entire event, and not just go by the schedule...must be a programming thing I need to figure out.

It was 5-2 in 8th with the 'stros doing NOTHING to help themselves, so it wasn't really a nail-biter. I would have liked to have seen the Ramirez hr, though. Lilly's just so slow...

What a nice game, though, if you like the Cubs (which I do).

1. Geovani Soto trucking that portly frame around the bases for an in-the-park hr. He must have been thinking "Oh HELL no," when he made it to third and saw they were waving him in.

2. Edmonds. That catch. Noice.

3. Berkman being dispatched on strikes not once, not twice, but thrice.

The Red Sox are the new Yankees.

Impossible. Steinbrenners.

I hate them both.

Me too. I wish I could just watch the team I like without all of the attention. I tune out the bullshit, especially with it comes to the Yankee rivalry.

I have Lester in a fantasy League and since have become a huge fan. Not only because of his history but because his slow start at the beginning of the year allowed a lot of pundits to throw the word "overrated" around quite a bit. And maybe he is, but there is not much you can say right now.

I traded David Wright for Daisuke and Lester, and a lot of folks in my league doubted my intelligence for it. Well, Lester's got the no -no, Matsuzaka leads the AL in Wins, and I haven't been paying too much attention but I think Wright is in a bit of a slump isn't he?

Yeah, he's only at .322/.375/.458 over the past 14 days. That's pretty far below his .352/.432/.602 last September when he choked the Mets out of the playoffs and lost the MVP race. You sold at the right time.
