26I fondly remember going through the Tim Horton's drive thru up here in Canada with the 'Frankie Teardrop' track segued halfway through just before Vega lets out his harrowing bellow. After I was asked if I wanted to order 'anything else,' I shot back at the intercom: "Lemme just ask my friend here, John." I proceeded to crank my stereo full blast with the inhumane wails of Vega's 'a farm animal knowing it's about to be dragged to the slaughterhouse' type gasps. I remember fondly this look of stunned amazement on the dude's face as I retrieved my order from him. Shocked, and slightly annoyed.

okay, when dealing with Suicide keep in mind that NOTHING else is particularly comparable with their first album...(though Martin Rev's first couple of solo records are pretty excellent...) even Suicide's second album is good but approaching the border of questionable...it's very cheesy although you can still find yourself liking it for reasons you're not entirely sure of...for the most part all of the rest of their albums are just downright bad...(well, the reissue of the second album has a second disc of early rehearsal tapes, which are worth having...) of course the live stuff from around the time of the first album is all good but the actual first album is by far the best...i'm probably repeating myself, but yeah, don't get any of their actual albums expecting anything like their first...i would strongly recommend finding away to listen to Why Be Blue? before spending as much as $7 on it...i personally would probably not spend $1 on it...if someone tried to give it to me i would most likely politely decline...
