Just walked my girlfriend home and her neighbour popped out and had her purse. He said he just went round some houses and let people know they had 20 mins to give the bag and the purse back and a taxi pulled up a few mins later and the bag and contents were thrown out onto his doorstep.

Meanwhile, we continue to wait for the Police.

What? Transcript please.

It'd be okay if they'd said 'Johnny Law'.

Lots of examples, the one I remember is (after we'd given a statement, that turns out wasn't a proper statement)

"Fuck. That is well of out order innit? (to his colleague). We'll go look for them now but they're gonna know the five o are everywhere now so they'll be laying low for a bit"

I had to leave the room to stifle a giggle.

(in their bloody dreams)

The police were mostly okay when I got mugged, although the police photographer they sent round to record my little face does merit mention for asking, "Mugged round here, were you? Black, were they?"

Thinking about this - it might be better if the police don't show up now. In the eyes of the neighbour, I'm sure this case is closed now, and I doubt he'd be impressed with further formal action being taken. "I sorted it, what did you get the five-o involved for?" Given that even if the the comedy coppers you've got there can crack this one there's unlikely to be charges (do people get done for muggings anymore? I dunno), it might be better just to let it slide, galling as that seems.

I've got the situation with Johnno's neighbours in mind, here, too.

We decided the same thing. Also, I don't think Johnno's situation and this are entirely unrelated.

"I'll just type up the report on my imaginary typewriter"

they must have meant 10PM as they just been on to phone to me asking if they could speak to Katy.

i just had to explain to him that it'd probably be a bad idea for them to go down where Katy lives in the fear of upsetting said neighbour mentioned above....
