so there are so many things out here on the internets talking about the best records of the year so far, and i have to say the pickin's are slim.

so can anyone here turn me on to any good releases of the year?

i dug the cloud cult record, portishead's 'third,' and the los campesinos! record. i guess the fleet foxes wasn't too bad (but does EVERY line have to be harmonized?!?).

I like the latest Bonnie 'Prince' Billy record a whole lot but then again, I always do. Likewise, The latest Silver Jews album is decent. JC introduced me to a band called WOMEN and I like their album. I enjoyed the most recent Make Believe album too, as per usual Greg did an excellent job.

No doubt the new Bottomless Pit, New Year, Dianogah and Lords records will all be ace once I get around to actually hearing any of them!

Thomas Feiner's record is easily my favourite of the year. Clearly I'm getting old, but I can't think of anything very noisy that's grabbed me for a while.
