My cat won't accept anything less.

We have two cats, thus 2 litter boxes.

Yup, and they use one for shit, and one for piss.

The little girl doesn't know how to cover her shit though, scrapes at the sides of the pan, and the wall instead of the litter. Pisses our old man off.

Yet Another Cat Question

My wife and I have a problem with our cat. For some reason, she’s lost interest in peeing in her litter box. She’ll crap in the box, but not pee in it, and instead pees on the carpet in front of the box. What makes this worse is that we’re trying to sell our house right now, and having an incontinent cat is going to make it even harder to unload the place, especially if she decides to start peeing elsewhere in the house besides the upstairs "cat room." Has anyone else had a similar problem and can pass along some friendly advice? We don’t want to get rid of the cat or send her off to kitty Dachau, but we need to do something about the piss problem and soon. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

when was the last time you washed the litterbox?
also sometimes peeing outside the box can mean a urinary tract infection or something like that. if getting a new box/changing litters/washing the box/getting a second box/buying urinary tract health-specific food doesn't cut it, it's time to visit the vet just to eliminate that possibility. how old is she and is the peeing outside the box thing out of the ordinary? maybe she's just an asshole. my first cat, keno, is an asshole like that but that's how she's always been (she is borderline autistic) and it has more to do with poop than pee. poor stupid cat.

also, go to walmart and purchase "out!" pet stain/smell remover. it's the cheapest and best enzyme stench killer.

How the hell do they have the intelligence to do this?

I really want to train mine to go in the toilet. If there is one thing I hate, it's spending money on stuff that's just going to be peed and pooped in and thrown away. Might as well line the litter box with actual dollar bills, because that's basically what buying litter amounts to.

Years ago, my ex Kahrin and I had a cat that used to watch the water drain out of the tub, (we had no shower in our apartment). One day I walk into the bathroom to see her squating over the tub drain peeing directly into it.

Cut back on our littler bill by 50%.

don't know that you ca really train them to do this shit, though some say you can. Many of them just figure it out for themselves. Others are just a little, how you say, dim, like my cat Reka that can't figure out how to cover her own shit.

Mysterious animals they are.
