John,Skype is the way to go for call-ins. If you haven't got it setup the next time I'm at yours, I'll help set it up. Won't take long to do.I think Shoutcast may be an option for streaming but looking through the documentation it will take a little while to setup and will depend on the quality of your internet connection. Some idea of the bandwidth you have available would be good - can you go to this site and upload information on your upload/download speeds?Might also be worth reaching out to matte and Jim at Caffeinated as they've streamed stuff from the last BBQs and may have some pointers. It will be awesome. For what it is worth, my vote for co-host is a toin-coss between Mario and Frank.steve.

I recommend using the internet archive to host the podcasts once you have them recorded. Free, unlimited, and you can do whatever you like with them, allow downloads, and stream it, too. Blogspot is good if you want to make a separate site for the show itself, you can easily link between them.

Hey PRF,As some of you may know, I've been planning a radio show/podcast.  Kate R. Has been helping me tremendously.  Also, forum member pymm did something to my computer that seemed to make it work.  I am at the stage where I can record the podcast and save it. Yay.    The weekly or bi-weekly show will broadcast live from the Barrage (my garage that I've converted into a bar.) My plan is to play PRF and local bands in free-form fashion. I will speak into a microphone and break balls.  I've recieved a good bit of music from PRF bands and I can't wait to play it.  I need more though.  So, if you want your music played live on internet radio, and don't mind it being archived for podcast, please send your music files, in the format of your choosing to thejohnhoulihanradioshow@gmail.com.  Sending me your song will be considered permission to broadcast it and archive it in the podcast.  If you've already sent me music and don't want it archived on the podcast, no problem.  Just message me and I won't include your big baby song that no one is going to buy.I need help with some stuff.1. Where should i archive the podcast?  Can anyone recommend me a good website for this purpose?  I have a couple of ideas, but maybe someone on here has a better one.  2. Do I need some type of retarded blog separate from the host site?3. What site should I use to broadcast live that won't cost me an arm and a leg?  Free would be awesomest.4. Phone calls.  I want to take calls.  This is important to me.  Should I use Skype?  How the fuck do I do that? The show will be ready in about a month if everything goes the way I've planned.  I will let you know when it will be on the air.  I'm currently looking for a co-host.  Well, that's about it for now.  I am welcome to any and all ideas. I know I'm forgetting some things, and I will update this thread as I think if them.OK!Follow on Twitter: @fromthebarrage

Thanks, Steve. You play poker at my house every other week and you're a Scot, so you can understand my distrust. The show will debut live on Friday, April 27th. I will provide a link. Also, the show will be easily downloadable via podcast after the fact. I will play many PRF bands, call a few innings of a ball game, take phone calls on my real phone (fuck Skype) and be shooting the shit with my radio partner, Dave Harrison, whom I barely know. My pal Mike will produce. It will probably be awful. Let's go.
