It can seep into the fret slots and it's hats off to Larry as to whether or not you'll be able to glue the frets in.Yeah. Back when I actually bothered with string cleaning, I would dab the solution onto a cloth (cut up unwanted t shirt usually) and neatly 'pinch' each string up and down the guitar with it. Then wipe it off with another dry cloth because I hate that greasy feeling.

So, I'm gonna re-ask and see if you guys can recommend THIS!A phaser pedal -I was looking at a new Phase 90, but many people say they are shit. Of course, I'm a skeptic, I don't believe the older ones are that much better, but I guess I'd need evidence. I'm not going out and buying anything yet. I'm also not spending $200 on a pedal for the time being.A reverb pedal -Again, I had an idea of a reverb pedal, the Mooer Shimverb, but if someone has a better suggestion, I'm all ears. And finallyA cheap, small, electronic drum kit -I am pressed for space, and I cannot play too loud. I was thinking of the Roland TD1K, which is exactly what I need, but if you guys can recommend something cheaper, I'd be delighted.

VaticanShotglass wrote:I'll try. I'm not a phaser user, but start with what is common in shops. That's mostly going to be MXR EHX and Boss. Try a phase 90 or listen to demos. Don't let somebody tell you something sounds like shit if it sounds how you want. (Build quality or durability is different) So some great classic starting points to look up are the Phase 90, Phase 45, Small Stone, and Bad Stone. Most of these have affordable reissues in all the usual places with plenty of user demos. Lots of fancier options may well be based on these anyway. The 45 might not on the market right now, but I believe there is a kit on generalguitargadgets.com that I or someone else here could build for you. I also believe EQD makes one. They are pricey, but not as bad as some makers. Their quality is good, so have a look. Thanks, I'll test this out. Unfortunately, I have very little time to go to shops at the moment, and I can't drive by myself, so that's why I ask for a really good pedal here. I guess it really is personal taste.VaticanShotglass wrote:As for reverb, what sort of reverb do you like? There's lots of good options out there. I just sold my T.C. electronics Hall of Fame. That is a really nice option since it has so many types of reverb in one place. My favorite reverb is plate style, but hall style is nice too. Most "guitar reverb" is spring style based on the mechanical spring tanks in amps. Then there are all sorts of exotic ambient style reverb sounds too. You'll find pedals catering to all of these sounds with many giving you several. Start with the T.C. options, and I think digitech makes a nice one in their hardwire series that folks like. EHX has several variants under their Holy Grail title. If you only want one style of reverb, identify that style and start hunting from there. There might be good, more affordable options dedicated to that style. You mention the shimverb. I've never played a Mooer, so I can't speak to their quality. The Shimverb, I think, has a sort of octave effect on the reverb trail. I know nothing about this style of reverb. Look into "shimmer mode reverb" to see what you can learn. I actually only really wanted a Shimverb because it has multiple options with the Reverb, which I could change around and that. T.C and EHX are out of the question, because, honestly, I don't really wanna blow $200 on a pedal. That shit is much pricey-er here than in America.I was gonna specify cheap, but I dunno. If someone can convince me to spend more, I guess I'll do it.numberthirty wrote:With pedals, it doesn't hurt to take a step back.Think about what your budget is. Let's say it's a flanger. Do you need that "jet" sound? Work out the "why" you need the pedal. If it's reverb, will it be worth it to go with a reverb with different sounds? Are you really set on a great version of a single sound? Will the two effects ever be running at the same time?I do want a phaser, but only really because I want a really versatile pedalboard. I can use it for riff writing and all that. The reverb is something I definitely want. My amp has reverb, but not footswitchable, which is why I want a reverb. To get that Burzum sound. Also, most likely, yes. I like a heavily modulated sound.
