This happens even when there's nothing plugged into the input. I suspect it's the power amp, but I can't think of what happened to damage it.

Any idea what this could be?Mine was doing this exact same thing and it was freaking me out a bunch. I turned it on a week later and it was fine, haven't had a problem since. Still a little worried about it though.

It's probably at least 20 years old at this point, right? Components don't last forever.
