any opinions on a couple <$100 mics?

I'd likely start with a couple for close-ish micing, and stereo as I find a cheap pair

Hey Team- I'm looking at teaching myself some of the basics of recording. I've done some 4 tracking in my day, etc. But this new band exists in a couple places, and our time is limited- so it seemed like a good excuse to get a small audio interface and a couple workable mics. I've used reaper for practice recording, but ended up with all sorts of latency issues trying to overdub. Reading a lot of reviews, it sounds like the best simple free DAW is maybe MUlab? anyone have a different suggestion? What about mics? Looking to keep everything super cheap- just need workable.Other considerations?

Do you have a mac? If so, Garage band is totally fine. It's easy to use and works well. You can't go crazy deep into it but for basic demos and stuff, it's great. I have Logic and DP on my studio computer but still use garage band for quick demo stuff on my laptop.

audio technica 37r. maybe a little over 100 but worth it.edit: never mind, they are way more than 100. i bought mine 10+ years ago. maybe could be have used for around 100. but also, you would need a way of getting them phantom power.

are you looking to get a pair of mics with which you could do a stereo recording? or like one mic that would be good for close mic'd amp and one that would be good for acoustic guitar and vocals?
