I was going to say a used 3035. I have Got a lot of miles out if mine. Are you using a laptop or a tower pc. If you are on a tower I have an old m audio delta 66 omni io that gets the gob real done. You can have it. You will just need an open pic slot. Do you live in Portland? Seems like I remember you being a portlander.

Even if you have already been playing guitar, there are some specific things you will need to tackle to be able to play that part. Even after you have tackled them, you will still need to get them all going at the same time.To me, it's the same sort of thing when you are talking about recording and performances as the two halves of a tandem bicycle of sorts.Maybe think about starting out with recording a cover that you don't have much of an attachment to as the "Training Wheels" portion of learning to do it? From what you are saying that might mitigate half of the issue while you work on the other half.

Thanks for the replies, all.I have cables and boom stands, and I was planning on unplugging the fridge and closing the door to the bathroom to avoid any plumbing noise (usually it's pretty quiet anyway). I don't have much problem with bird sounds making their way into the recordings. Big cars on the other hand...I suppose I'll just have to pray for fewer cars. I have good chairs to play on, and I think I can get the Logic app to control my software and keep my computer in the bedroom, as the fan is pretty loud. What about Q2: keeping confidence steady as you go? Any advisings?

For many people, just hearing their own voice recorded feels weird and can be off putting. Doing a run of something you don't have attachment to can help mitigate that most basic insecurity.
