What do you guys think about delaying the overhead mics? Is that just a really stupid idea and what types of problems can that bring?If you listen to the recordings Brian Paulson made on songs like Good Morning, Captain - Slint and Ma Digital - U.S. Maple. It almost sounds like a double effect on the kick and the hi-hat. Is that delayed overhead, delayed room mics or both, or just the slamming a ham kind of kickdrum sound they have?
