terry's rubber rollers

I sent Terry an email since, as I m sure you ve seen, his website looks like it hasn t been updated since the days of Geocities. Just confirming that he was still actively repairing rollers. He got back to me quickly, like within a few minutes. He was upfront about his turnaround time being a bit longer than normal (typically 3-5 days, according to him) due to recently losing his dad. When I actually shipped the roller to him, my tracking number showed it was delivered on 4/16, and he shipped it back out on 4/24.No idea on if he can send you new rubber without the roller. FYI, I contacted him using the Juno.com email address on his site.

I'd still recommend Athan over Terry's for fancy pro tape machines with tight tolerances. I had him do one of our A820MCH, four section pinch rollers and it didn't come together right. Fortunately, Steve Smith in Nashville corrected it for us. All four rollers need to be exactly the same diameter, and spaced appropriately for the transport height. I don't think he had a good example or documentation to work from. For earlier and small format machines, it seems like a great resource.

He re-rubbered the roller for my Otari MX5050 8-track about 7 years ago. Easy to deal with, very reasonable turnaround, and the roller has been fine ever since.
