Interesting to see what other folks use- Since I just have a tiny setup for garage/demo recording, most of those are aspirational.I have:-D112-AT 3035-AT 4040-Sennheiser e935-Sennheiser 835-Monoprice sm57 clone-Shure sm58I got the sennheisers almost free when a shop closed, and the 58 was free. the 4040 was in a box of mics I got for $50- sold the rest.
No one is paying you to sit on that bed and cry.

There was a speculative/prescriptive post your ideal $2500 mic locker thread, but I don't think there's ever been this thread. There is now this thread. Let us know what you make records with. If you want to throw in outboard equipment and the like, or a sweet rig drawing that is awesome, there's no law against it.Apex 250 (x2)Aston OriginAudio-Technica Pro-37R (x2)Audio-Technica boundary mics (x2)Avantone MondoBeyerdynamic M81Beyerdynamic M88Electro-Voice 635aFostex M88RPRevox M3500Sennheiser Black Fire (ugh) 541Sennheiser e609Shure SM7Bw/ regular access to bandmates' SM7B, M88, and pair of C451s w/ CK5 capsules.Would like to clear out some guitars and pick up one real LDC, like a KSM44 or an AT4047MP, and a KSM37 for snare drums.
