Unintentional solo vacation to NYC 6/6-6/10
1I used to live in New York but moved away recently, so I won't be of much help besides advice. If you're on a tight budget and enjoy doing a lot of walking there's plenty you can do for free:- Central Park and Prospect Park are both huge and well worth exploring.- Coney Island is somewhat interesting, plus you can chill at the beach.- Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge (especially at night). It's packed with tourists but still worth doing once.- If you do a lot of reading visit Strand bookstore. It's huge, and you can find a lot of books in like-new condition for cheap.- Not that you'd have any reason to go to Staten Island, but you can ride the ferry for free, and you get a good view of the Statue of Liberty.- If you just want to walk around a bunch of neighborhoods there's plenty to see in lower-ish Manhattan (Chinatown, Little Italy, West Village, East Village, SoHo, etc).
