Are you sure that's not just bleed through from the original color and this is an old respray?

No it's just a thick, nicotine aged clearcoat over the original blue - it's visible through some of the chips: Nothing on the guitar has been touched in terms of replacements / refinishing except I think maybe someone sanded the back of the neck a little.

I like that it matches the background color of the new forum.

I've had a suggestion that the colour should be called "Marlboro Gold" which seems about right. Nicotine aged PRF?

I'm wondering when some luthier will have a relicing process that puts the guitar into a box that smokes a carton of lucky strikes

We looked at an apartment from a deceased estate that had walls the same colour as the forum, except for where there had been paintings. It was fucking incredible. Even the estate agent was laughing. The family eventually rolled for an internal repaint, but I have always wondered if the painters scrubbed back first. If not then the new owners have about four years until their surprise.

I took a chance on it because a friend owns a guitar store and I can usually flip stuff I don't like without losing much, but when I got it out of the box it was pretty clear it's a keeper. Literally the lowest spec model (TL33) but something's just right about it.
