so i wanna throw my ts50b into a 2x12 combo cab. the one i was thinking about putting it into, however, is a tweed build, and the knobs face up on the rear of the top panel, as opposed to the natural front facing set up that the ts50b has. as long as there is clearance for the speakers, is there any reason this wouldnt work or that it would be a bad idea (heating, component failure, etc)?
thanks
Re: amp rehouse query
2You dont really have heat issues with solid state amps. It might be a pain to mount though because it has that angled front panel. Seems like you could mount a solid state power amp in the cab and use a Rusty Box to do the same thing, though. Sorta surprised no one is making full TS50B clones the way theyve done for Sunn Betas tbh.Omarwhite wrote: Tue Jun 15, 2021 7:34 am so i wanna throw my ts50b into a 2x12 combo cab. the one i was thinking about putting it into, however, is a tweed build, and the knobs face up on the rear of the top panel, as opposed to the natural front facing set up that the ts50b has. as long as there is clearance for the speakers, is there any reason this wouldnt work or that it would be a bad idea (heating, component failure, etc)?

3Would buy a TS-50b clone from Dr. Tony Balls.Dr Tony Balls wrote: Tue Jun 15, 2021 9:31 am Sorta surprised no one is making full TS50B clones the way theyve done for Sunn Betas tbh.
Re: amp rehouse query
4LOL. Would buy a PCB from someone willing to make one and build you a TS50B clone. I dont *think* i'd want to get it done without a proper PCB.weezy wrote: Tue Jun 15, 2021 10:53 amWould buy a TS-50b clone from Dr. Tony Balls.Dr Tony Balls wrote: Tue Jun 15, 2021 9:31 am Sorta surprised no one is making full TS50B clones the way theyve done for Sunn Betas tbh.

Other than the Tronographic guy and some other dude who was making a rack preamp clone (edit: called 'Zadora 1978').....it's not like the market is flooded? Is this a bad business idea? I am totally fucking spitballing, ignore me if you smell horseshit.
Re: amp rehouse query
7I mean....I *could* make one but I suspect the reason that other people dont make one is that the originals arent so rare as to be expensive. They top out at like $500 on Reverb. The Rusty box is novel because nobody was making one as a pedal/preamp.
Re: amp rehouse query
8I actually gutted a TS25b on the sidewalk in March. (welcome to Canada)
Liberated the preamp board and gave it to a buddy to build a rackmount bass pre.
