For decades I thought the line in The Stones' 'She's A Rainbow' was "her voice is like a seance". Last year when I discovered it was actually "her face is like a sail" I was so disappointed. What does that even mean? Who wants to have a face like a sail?!? The seance line was infinitely cooler. So I wrote a song called 'Her Voice Is Like A Seance' that's on my new solo thing. I just loved that line so much. What started as a disappointment became an opportunity. Hopefully I have corrected the balance.

But apparently David Berman's "Nights That Won't Happen" came from a mishearing of the title "Nights in White Satin." DCB's is better!

on 12 Rods' very homoerotic 'I Wish You Were a Girl', I heard one of the lines as "cuz I'm feeling Greek, if you know what I mean", which is way better, if less rhyming, than the actual "..feeling green".

I used to think on Joy Division's 'Heart and Soul' the chorus was "Heart and soul....water will burn" when in actual fact it's "one will burn". I prefer my version.
