I may draw some ire for this, but:

Joy Division - 'Atmosphere'

It's always felt kind of 'outside' their other stuff, like they were doing a cover of someone else's song and it doesn't really belong in their canon.

It's also boring, the vocal delivery is mediocre at best and the lyrics are, well.... a bit naff.

Probably doesn't help that it became a dirge for Ian Curtis, after the fact, and gets overused any time there's a doc, tv piece, or any reference at all to the band.

(clip of Rush's "Tai Shan")
I doubt that could be much farther away from what I like about Rush. Good... I mean very appropriate... choice.
I have a good friend who clearly prefers 80s/early 90s Rush to 70s Rush - which completely boggles my mind. The consensus amongst peers for the past 30+ years has been that 70s Rush is orders of magnitude better than 80s Rush, and the peak of their output was between Caress of Steel and perhaps Moving Pictures.

To know someone who considers Rush's best efforts to include Signals and Power Windows, up to Roll the Bones, has gotten me to rethink my notions of "inconceivable".
I mean, I get it. I like/love pretty much every record. And there are some days where Power Windows sounds better than Hemispheres to me. It's all good! Love is love!

Wild, man. It's one of my favourites. Least favourite of mine from JD is Love etc. I've always found the main melody irritating.

It grooooooves! JD can make danceable songs too!

Well it is a definite change of pace from the futuristic tribal funk of Atrocity Exhibition, I can imagine that being jarring to some.

Really?

I do think the record is a far cry from the live performances.

What turns you off about that blistering rocker?
It's something I've never been able to put my finger on. It rankles me.
Literally the only Fugazi song I NEVER like.
Weird. Different strokes. Fugazi's definitely one of my favorite bands, and I was always inspired by the two note guitar riff on this. Because it sets the atmosphere of the song well. And because when I was figuring out how to play guitar, I was like "well, I can play that song."
