I honestly don't know anyone who loves the Doors. I think they've become more of a punching bag than a sacred cow for some good reasons.

That said, they did something pretty unique and we're a huge influence on Joy Division, The Misfits and many others.

Listening, perhaps. Have you attended one? It's quite a different experience. I don't own any recordings of opera, but offered tickets I'll go every time. I'd even pay if it was more affordable. But alas...it's not.
Opera is definitely expensive, though it's interesting to see how it compares to mainstream rock concerts these days. I just compared prices for Don Giovanni at the SF Opera to John Mayer at the new basketball arena. Comparable seats are very similarly priced, which seems crazy. I've never been to a rock concert in an arena-- maybe there's some spectacle involved that makes it an amazing experience?

Yeah the price of concerts is ridiculous. Comedians even more so. Pay $100 to see a guy/gal say funny stuff.

See it makes some sense that Beyonce tickets are $150. She has hundreds of people working for her, every day, many on stage with her. Makes much less sense that Kraftwerk costs nearly the same with four guys b/w some light and video.

Big rock shows can be cool, though maybe it's nostalgia talking. The drinks are always more expensive. I've seen quite a few, the last one was Radiohead around 5 years ago. I thought they were great.
"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

Oof.

If you were only referring to “Doctor Jimmy”, I’d agree with you.

Love that album otherwise.
My status as an edgelord is always eclipsed by the fact that I get more satisfaction out of someone loving something I've dismissed, and inspiring me to reexamine it, than any enjoyment in aggravating someone by calling their beloved artifact a piece of crap. Sometimes I feel like the Polly Anna of rock music.
