Looks GREAT!

Hipshot makes shorter saddles for that bridge if you need a couple to help with intonation (I did on a build of mine).

Absolutely fantastic - love it, the neck through look on the telecaster body blows the roof off the whole thing. Way to go!

I wonder how the cost of tools and materials for this project compare to the cost of an EGC. I suppose you’d break even by the second one.

Not to take anything away from Jury but keep in mind, EGC makes pretty much all their own parts with the exception of tuners. So the pickups, knobs, bridges, all that is done in house.

Yeah- I'm not even in the same zip code as Kevin.

As for tooling/costs. I kept close track of everything for this build and spent $305 on parts and tools I didn't already have (like a bandsaw blade, cup/flap disks). But I already owned all the power tools I used and had years of experience in building guitars and in machining tractor parts and other metal fabrication. not that anything I did was special, but I did have some advantages.

The rickenbacker trick is to double the length of string you're winding around the tuning peg, and wrap it in a downward spiral, so you maximize your break angle at the nut. I do this on ric guitars because they have a very slight headstock angle (8 degrees, vs 15-17 degrees on a gibson).

Couldn't help myself- so made a late-night trip to the practice space to plug it in to the big amp and pedals...fucking gnarly...so much clang and sustain. The neck pickup is great. Less in love w/ the 1/4 pounder bridge. Making a list of improvements, which I'll share after a few others have a chance to check it out.

It is beyond cool that Jury is so skilled and resourceful he could seemingly put together a car from scrap parts, if the Bismarck or a musician friend needed one.
But it is also fine that there are normal companies that can do that more normally.

I haven't yet bought an EGC, sadly, so I won't weigh in on anything about the Electrical Guitar Company that might be implied in this thread. But I feel like one guitar builder's motto could be "insane overkill on quality" and the other's could be "close enough for rock 'n' roll." Not sure which!!!!!!!!

Will this concept ever reach the 8-string bass level of production? I have a Kramer XL-8 sized hole in my heart after I sold mine years ago.
