Re: Crap/Not Crap: Will Smith assaulting Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars
21Dumb. probably scripted. it's made twitter worse today, somehow. Also, who the fuck cares what scientologists think or feel at this point? fuck em.
I wish.
It definitely is.
I'm already being scolded by an FM on Fb for saying "if someone mocked my lady for her illness" because apparently I am part of toxic masculinity for referring to the woman I've spent 30 years with as "my lady." Like she's my property and I am a big grunting caveman. Mind you this chiding is coming from a dude in his 50s so it's not like all the scolds are woke millennials. Anyone can be dumb and boring at any age.penningtron wrote: Mon Mar 28, 2022 6:56 amp.s. my crankiness isn't directed at anyone here, but social media contest to see who can have the most progressive take on this. blech.
Oscar nods appear to be boosting box office by pretty much the same as always, so it'll likely be a good while before it bleeds out. Which is a shame.enframed wrote: Mon Mar 28, 2022 11:02 am It definitely is.
The kids don't know who any of these people are. My wife worked briefly at the new restaurant at the Academy Museum. She had to explain to the employees who Halle Berry is, Spike Lee, others, when they came in to dine. These kids (the younger servers, hosts, bartenders, &c) have no idea who anyone over age 50 is.
I didn't know who any of the old stalwarts were when I was a kid either. Merv Griffin was just a production company. I had no idea why I should give a fuck who George Kennedy was. June Allison was just some old broad in diapers.enframed wrote: Mon Mar 28, 2022 11:02 amIt definitely is.
