I was in essentially the same position until I was 40. My mother, who was also vague and withheld things from me, died when I was 39 and my father found her obituary and located me that way. He died last year from post-COVID symptoms, but we had 5 years to get to know each other a little. There's so much to say about it all, but the point for now is that I know how weird it feels, and I'm glad you're back and talking about it.
Thank you, Johnny (please excuse me if i've got this wrong). It means a lot.

MY HEART

I was an 18 year old kid, living with his meth addicted (adoptive) father, while my mom was back in England having a child with my cousin. I worked up the stones through desperation and suiciadal depression to find my bio-dad. Through some bizarre twist we were both in the right head space (and the grace and humanity of my stepmom) to slowly forge a relationship, which 29 year later is almost like anyother father/son one. And we're friends

WElcome back Clortho. Stick around
Thank you for sharing that, Nick.

Just back from bronchoscopy and biopsy. Persistent cough for over two years, nodule in lung. Its name is "noddy". We go everywhere together. Probably scar tissue from a lifetime of bronchitis is the running guess. Have spent the last year having multiple blood tests, CTs, massive courses of ABs, you name it. If they cut this fucking thing out and I get picture of it, I'll post it here.

Went to MC5 last night expecting little but recognizing that I would regret going, and it's of historical significance. Was treated to a VERY GOOD high energy rock and roll show. Some of those songs, especially American Ruse given the original production are just so good at full volume. Wayne is great, the smile on his face the whole time was great. I've seen people half his age put 1/10th the effort in. His band is excellent. I would not miss this tour.

What I would give to be that guy again. Laying on a hospital couch while my spouse tries to sleep after the third round of lab work. Biopsy this morning but I saw the size of the chest mass in the X-rays and how much the neck lump has grown in just a week, don’t know how this can’t be the assumed lymphoma. How do you be the tough one for them :(

Fingers crossed we can joke about our noddy
