I've seen them loads, but last night (maybe cos of/aided by the smallness of the venue) they were absolutely on fire. Great to see FM (former FM?) honneyisfunny doing his thing, and lovely to chat to FM (former FM?) rodabod, who I hadn't seen for ages.

Pummelling rock alleviates a lot. Get some. Take care of yourselves and each other.
That's very kind! I'm still on here but more of a lurker these days. If I'd have known you guys were there I'd have come and said hi. I thought the gig was a tricky one so I spent the after-gig period stomping about in a huff as often happens. I thought the venue was huge though!

Having last seen you at Dingwalls (Deserfest), which felt way more distant, even though it's probably the same size-ish room, Studio Thingy just felt more open and informal, so maybe that threw my sense of size.

Packed up my home office desk this evening and will be moving it all back to the work office desk tomorrow.

The days of working from home 100% of the time appear to be over for me. For now.

I do have a new cube in the work office, though, and it has a big window overlooking the front lawn. Things could be worse.

I'm jealous, but not for long because this is my last week at this job and hopefully my last week working from home. I'm a mental health counselor and I can't tell you how debilitating this remote pandemic shit has been to the therapeutic process, not to mention my ass and core from sitting at a desk all this time.

I can imagine. I went through a few therapy sessions last year, which were thankfully face-to-face. I don't think they would have been (as) effective if they would have been remote.

Going back to the office is a mixed bag for me, but as mentioned things could be worse.

I've been working in substance abuse, and within the first month of lockdown a client (not mine) overdosed fatally during a group telehealth session. His camera wasn't on so he just went silent and eventually someone called in a welfare check and his body was found. Many clients call in from the store, their jobs, or their hectic lives, and aren't putting time and space aside to focus on treatment. Some groups have gone back to in-person but are only partially attended, and whenever there's a coronavirus scare the place shuts down again. It's just not a sustainable model and the powers that be aren't doing enough to get it working right. I can't wait for it to get right, not to mention the pay is shit and the work is mostly thankless, so I'm going to apply to some mental health clinics where I can work with people face to face. I'm also tired of doing probation/parole's job and chasing down mandated clients who don't want to be in therapy.

As of today, I have paid off ALL past medical debt. (Cancer, Detox, Rehab) I'll still be running up a bit every year for my 2 MRI, and Ultrasound etc. But, a system is in place to make that doable going forward.
