Re: Little Details from Your Day
682Well, shit. Looks like Green Velvet, Luke Solomon, Honey Dijon, and other luminaries of the underground have been given writing credits on the new Beyonçé record.rsmurphy wrote: Tue Jul 19, 2022 5:14 pm Beyoncé and Drake both make terrible music. How embarrassing for black and queer culture that you have these two monumental hacks purportedly bringing house music to the masses. Good lord. That woman has an insane amount of personal wealth, and to think that she couldn't throw some dollars to a writer or an agent to drop a genuine sick house beat goes to show that money can't buy taste. Just awful. I haven't been out much lately, or listen to much radio, but surely this can't be the summer jam - an early 90's preset that immediately brings to mind a better singer and better jam? As much as it pains me to admit this, at least, the very very least, the Drake song has a scintilla of some originality, but that doesn't make it good.
Skrillex too. And as we all know you can't have a house record without Skrillex.

683According to my gf, I woke up last night and told her that I dreamed I caught honky pox. I vaguely remember the dream, but I don’t remember telling her about it.

684I really hope this isn't a typo!

688My dad grew-up in 1940's-Tennessee and he told me that the term "honky" was derived from whiteys driving around black neighborhoods in their big cadillacs honking their horns to show-off or whatever. I'm picturing you that way now, but with monkey-pox. Also, lots of Fred Sanford and George Jefferson lines playing in my head.Dave N. wrote: Mon Jul 25, 2022 2:22 pm According to my gf, I woke up last night and told her that I dreamed I caught honky pox. Honky. What a dumb racial slur. No bite. No aggression.

689My buddy received VIP passes from Budweiser for Lollapalooza this Saturday, so why not. Last time we were both at Lollapalooza was in 2006 at an invitation from the Lips, and that was fun. This doesn't look to be fun, but we're going to make it so at the behest and purse from Budweiser, the king of beers. From looking at the lineup I only know three of the bands.

Not too bad, sounds like it could've been released on Slumberland, K, or Sarah...maybe at a small venue I could enjoy it.

690By the way yeah I listened to the Beyonce song and it sucks. Why tf would anyone want to hear that highschool disco boop boop sound again. No effort at all.rsmurphy wrote: Tue Jul 19, 2022 5:14 pm Beyoncé and Drake both make terrible music.
