We are really excited to be working on this official reissue with Abdul himself. The tapes are currently being restored, so we are not yet sure of the exact release date - once that aspect is complete, we should have a better idea of timeframe. But for now, you can sign up for updates here: https://www.gottagroovestore.com/produc ... by-myself/

Would love to see a nice reissue of La Monte Young - The Well-Tuned Piano, some early Alvin Lucier, and those first three Low records.
I guitar Conformists.

That's really great news.
According to his family, Wadud passed away on August 10th. I am sad that he did not live to see the re-release of this seminal record, but very glad that he did live to see his work reach a new, wider audience and receive the sustained appreciation it deserves, and that he got the chance to interact with a new generation inspired by his playing. Rest in power.

IIRC Plain Recordings reissued those about 10 years ago, Long Division anyway. But, Plain Recordings, IME, sounded like shit too much of the time. YMMV. Is Vernon Yard around anymore?
I’m pretty sure all the VY stuff is long gone. There was an Acetone comp that came out recently that included some stuff from those days, but it was just a sampling of the overall output.

That’s another band whose catalog should get the Numero treatment.

I should see which of those Low records I have on CD.

Yes, Acetone. I have most of their stuff but I need If You Only Knew on LP.

Shit, I think I owe someone here some Acetone files...

I was at my local record store yesterday, and I noticed they had a few old Sparks records, above what you'd normally pay. I wanted 'No. 1 in Heaven', but it was $75. I asked the guy how prices are determined, and mentioned the Sparks records. He said a woman came in with those, and they paid around $300 for them.

So, yeah, the older Sparks albums should be reissued. I know there was a 40th anniversary ed of 'No. 1 in Heaven', but it's sold out on their website.
"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."
