Re: The Best Record Stores

I always had a soft spot for Spiller's in Cardiff, which was (is?) the oldest record shop in the UK. Maybe anywhere, fuck knows.

Vinyl Exchange in Manchester, Selectadisc in Nottingham, Lotus Records in Stoke, a place in Reading that used to have a great trade in promos and bootlegs. A few in London I didn't know by name but always traipsed around - one was in Soho I think, and was just by an open air fruit and veg market. Another up some stairs on Tottenham Court Road.

Stockholm is just great for record stores, if you can get past the prices. Again, I don't know the places by name, I just do a circuit every once in a while. If I ever have the stability I'll do some Rhythm Roulette shennanigans amongst them someday.

I live in the Halifax area not too far from Leeds and Manchester. My favourites are Jumbo Records (good for new stuff and gig tickets), Relics records (second hand records) In Leeds, Vinyl Exchange in Manchester & Vinyl Tap in Huddersfield is very good and they have a good webstore with loads of stuff. Ill have to check out Venus Vinyl if I'm ever in Norwich.

I'm in York now and we have Earworm Records here but it's not the greatest... if anyone has some UK recommendations I would love them.
