“Big Bang Baby”. Great song. That’s the only song of theirs that I ever liked.ErikG wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2023 5:13 pm Solid crap except for that one glammy song, something Baby I think.
Wasn't there a band called Red Temple Spirits?

42Sometimes on a 90's prime-time soap opera there will be a woman trying to turn her life around that decides to open a bar or night club. There is this band she really believes in that have an a & r guy and they become the house band while the club gets off the ground. They have so much potential and the album they recorded is amazing.
This is what Stone Temple Pilots sound like.

44Yeah, I think the L.A. Rökk Biz / Viper Room / Velvet Revolver tribe were always more comfortable w/ STP then the other grunge bands (*), authenticity hucksters recognising each other.... That crowd were REALLY into the 2nd QOTSA record when it came out, as I recall. Must be a sleazy attitude thing?Bernardo wrote: Sat Apr 22, 2023 1:44 pm After Kyuss was no longer the first Qotsa song I heard was The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret, and I was so disappointed Homme was making music that, to me, sounded like STP. I warmed up to Qotsa later on, but never got into the blue record.
(*Alice in Chains were also an easy point of adoption, but Layne's genuine dysfunction / reclusive self-destruction were a bit of a tough sell by the mid-90s.)

45HA, I just happened to be listening to that song as I saw your post.
Wonderful tune, trumpet solo, constant riding of the china cymbal in the pre-chorus, lovely stuff.

47Straight up...
If the rest of the band ever goes out with Hootie fronting the thing?
I am actually going to have to seriously consider going.

48Come to think of it...
I actually saw them at the Aragon in the slot before The Flaming Lips and The Butthole Surfers.
They sure didn't beat The Flaming Lips, but they may very well have been better than The Butthole Surfers.

49Triple X,
I'm uncertain if i want you to stop Hootie-ing the threads, or if I want you to Hootie them all.
Confounded,
