Did Kiss ever do a skinny-tie, keyboard-y new wave song? Because then they’d have the hat trick.
Re: When rockers went disco
22This is absolutely true.
That reggae song just sounds like a slowed-down version of "We Go Together" from Grease.

I had no idea Unmasked sounded like that.

26I love thinking about Scott Walker already exploring deep in the labyrinth of the darkest reaches of the human psyche being like "Yeah man! We're doing everyone's song. Put some handclaps on this thing so people will dance!"zorg wrote: Wed Jun 21, 2023 7:12 am Laminar Flow...while an awesome title is more like wretched Easy Listening rather than Disco...but I can't blame you from not getting past the first track.
I like that this was on the same record as The Electrician
Honestly it's easier to list bands that didn't go disco, everybody seemed to have at least one half-hearted abomination ready to go.
I don't know if that's exactly the reality, but it's how I understand the spirit of this album.

We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

28Worth noting that it is a KISS record in the same way that All Shook Down is a The Replacements record.Wood Goblin wrote: Wed Jun 21, 2023 9:04 pmGood lord. So Kiss win the worst hat trick.

Re: When rockers went disco
29True, and maybe even less so. Paul Westerberg at least wrote all the songs on All Shook Down.
Then again, I believe Kiss relied on session players quite a lot. And Alive is about as “live” as Katy Lied is.

30I keep seeing this thread and think “If Reagan Played Disco”.
