I got it around two years back for $45 bucks plus reasonable shipping from Guitar Center used online. Everywhere else was asking $150 bucks or more. I don't like it that much. I've not yet gotten it to sound great with my pedals, but I haven't tried too much since it is the amp I play when I just want to sit on the couch and plug straight in. Should try using the filter knob on the rat (which I usually don't) as suggested above. The clean channel sounds great with a smidge of drive dialed in. I even like the overdrive button engaged, which get some fun, thick, nasty dirt. I've toyed with the idea of adding a diode switch for kicks. Great amp for practice without pedals since it sounds good and keeps me from getting distracted with delay, etc. The worst thing I can say about it is that it definitely sounds like a Vox! Which is not bad, I just wish it were voiced more like a 60s Fender.
I also have this for this reason and really like it. I have a strymon irridium when I want to switch between both

I haven't played an iridium, but I've seen videos where they sound great. If I got more serious about playing again, I would consider one.

Anybody have good Quilter or whatever clips/videos where people are playing rock music?

I feel like I got it because I got less serious about playing. I like geeking out about stuff but for whatever reason I have zero interest in running this to make a live band rig out of it, but I did try it through a clean amp into a full range speaker and it was pretty convincing. There's still a level of musical feedback and 'my amp also feels like an instrument' that still isn't there and I would never want to give that up. It's still just too Metalli-stock to make me FEEL anything from it.

Well here's some actual PRF folks playing at a PRF event - this is just the recording from my mixer but John's [Stomotopod] playing all Quilter
That's probably the best example of straight up rock guitar I've heard thru a Quilter. I've had good luck either doing either shimmery clean stuff or full on freak noise through several Quilter models, but not so much in between.

Rad! Yeah, I have trouble gauging 90% of gear demos on certain equipment. And cheers to two rad PRF bands.
