Wrong thread, but I miss the days where you could count on a new spooky Flanagan series on Netflix every fall. Many of which were way better then they needed to be.

Now I hear he's making a massive adaptation of Steven King's cowboy/fantasy epic for Prime. I haven't read the books so I haven't gotten excited.

Anyway, Carla. MFing. Gugino.
Gerald's Game is a freaky trip. I was unfamiliar with the novel, went in blind for the movie, and legitimately got my clock cleaned with a few deeply terrifying sequences. Flanagan has an incisive way of using the past traumas of his characters to work on the present-day supernatural terrors that plague their waking hours. Tethered to a bed for most of the movie's runtime, Carla's Jessie is forced to face her past, and she gets shrimped by the Moonlight Man which is more disturbing than sensual.

Swalwell looks like he'd be part of high school gang that includes William Zabka and James Spader. It's the brutish lower jaw.

Now that I'm thinking about it there seems to be a dearth of good-looking American politicians. I guess Martin Heinrich is serviceable. Corey Booker looks too much like myself, and that's just weird. I'd destroy Kinzinger but wouldn't want to give him the satisfaction. Buttigieg can get it, his goody-goody look belies something more sinister. Jeffries looks kinda sleepy but that's also just a ruse. Where are all the smoke shows? The Brian Sims? The young McCains? Obama is handsome but looks too milquetoast.
