Yeah, I saw it this weekend. It is nuts. Reminded me a lot of Cronenberg's The Fly and Requiem For A Dream. It is not subtle and not for the squeamish - teeth are pulled, backs are split open, faces smashed, and lots of needles are used, most in extreme close up. It was hard to watch at times. It gets crazy by the end, one scene had me laughing out loud. It is hard to forget, though, and the performances are solid. If you're ok with all of that, I'd recommend it.
"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

Fair summary. It's an experience. It's not a great film. I'm glad I saw it, and won't ever have need to see it again.

Cool, I love Cronenberg. My favorite is definitely Dead Ringers. I'll check this one out, though I hooked our TV up to a nice two-channel system to avoid theaters.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

That sounds much worse than The Fly or RFAD.....

I liked this film, but the monotonic, hesitant, delivery of the dialogue made it very hard going. A lot of it was just exposition anyway and could have been cut out.

Ignoring that some pretty nice twists and turns, though it could have been much creepier.
It struck me as Gen Z trying to be David Lynch but landing closer to Donny Darko. It's always nice seeing Connor O'Malley show up in things even if he doesn't really fit the 'vibe' of this movie.

Actually used the non-linear narrative in a novel way, almost a manipulative way. Didn't mind.

Fantastic ending, I thought. Reznor and Ross score was perfect.
Absolutely horrible. This is the movie that Abercrombie & Fitch groomer guy would make if he wasn't making cargo pants. Even so, if it had just stuck to hairless boys eating churros while dripping with sweat in a sauna maybe we could have gotten this business over with in 30 minutes. Instead we're making "Art" here, and they shoehorn all this soft porn into a 150 minute remake of Cruel Intentions on a Tennis Court. Zero stars.
