The omnipresence of Kylie Minogue

What is with Kylie Minogue being mentioned alongside actual respectable musicians? Not that I hold Pitchfork in especially high esteem, but they are constantly reporting on the music, career, and dieases of Kylie, and (even though their news reporitng is very suspect) they don't do this for other crummy Britney Spears-types. They also reported that she's performing on the main stage at Glastonbury (again, not something I give a shit about) alongside Brian Wilson, Elvis Costello and Van Morrison (among others). Am I missing something? Am I wrong for putting Kylie in the same league as Britney and that "Baribe Girl" band?

You mean like taking up a news spot for a festival that the news source is putting on? i think it's a little shady myself. why not just have a banner add for it or something?

as far as kylie goes, i don't really keep track of her music or what she does or why she's in the press, but i don't think you're too far off, putting her in the same bag as britney spears and the like.

Apparently.

It's very early stage and thus likely to be easily treatable, but she happily told the world. Wonder why.

to raise awareness? because she's a big advocate for breast cancer research? to demonstrate the importance of breast exams?

or no, wait, do you think it's to get rich or sell records or something?

I think your Kylie issue lies there....
If you're gay, then you have to adore her.
If you're not gay, then you can't understand Kylie and you don't give a shit about her.

I'm not gay, although I have kissed men - I enjoy the simple act of pleasuring myself with the aid of consenting women, but I have to say that beyond Ms Minogue's bottom I don't feel a thing for her. Sure, she's attractive and all that jass, but she's no Grotbags.

I dunno; it was a genuine question!

Clearly this scare will make her more money than she would have earned without the scare.

Fact.

No need for the eye-rolling!

i apologize then. it really, really seemed like you were being sarcastic. i believe it was the standalone sentence of "Apparently." that made it seem like you suggesting it was bullshit. again, sorry for that misinterpretion .

No need!

The apparently was related to the fact that I don't slavishly follow the lives of dull, plastic celebs; I should have been clearererer.
