It was like old-timey Facts of Life.

People may forget, but the second cold war hadn't quite started yet. My company was still regularly sending people to Russia to do business just previous to the whole Covid thing, so it is not in any way weird that countries might be sharing such things. The Russians actually had the first registered vaccine for COVID-19 as well, which was widely used outside of the united states and had the cheeky name of Sputnik V. Never would have been used here of course, because we're in bed with our pharma industry.Krev wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 2:25 pm How about the romance between Trump and Putin? It was so nice of him to send those COVID tests. This is apparent the best our country has to offer.
He's talking about when a sitting president sent a scarce resource to an enemy nation during a crisis.hbiden@onlyfans.com wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 2:46 pm Covid tests from 4 years ago? What are you talking about?

I think a desk and medical supplies during a pandemic are a little different. Also, although they hadn't started a full invasion, as of 2020 Russia had grabbed Crimea and we were struggling to renew a nuclear arms treaty with them so we were far from allies.zorg wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 8:13 pm Just to get this out of the way Trump is a moron. But Russia at the time wasn’t an enemy nation at all, and this was typical perks of the job. This argument is incredibly stupid. You guys just will continue to argue against all logic, huh? Crimea is not EU and it is not US. Like I linked above Trump and Biden had a friendly sparring relationship with the Russians until recently. Even today, we do not formally consider them an enemy nation. He apparently gave Putin some kind of a covid test tool, they sent us ventilators. This seems like a reasonable exchange in a global crisis We similarly gifted vaccines to many places. It’s a non-topic. Now Biden and Trump giving billions of dollars worth of killing machines to allies. That I do have a problem with.losthighway wrote: Fri Oct 11, 2024 8:46 pmI think a desk and medical supplies during a pandemic are a little different.
