Re: Steel Pole Bath Tub - rock'n'roll band
3Great band, nice folks, and we are fortunate they are doing reunion shows again.
Re: Steel Pole Bath Tub - rock'n'roll band
6Tuff for me as I really dig Tulip and the Lurch ep quite a bit (mega-angst meets mega-scronk - I like) but think the rest feels very superfluous; especially Unlistenable and all the rinky-dink "experimental" Milk Cult stuff, which I think is utter crap.
The good stuff is just idiosyncratic enough to give 'em a not crap, heavy wf as too many releases just don't make the grade.

7One of my favorite bands from that era. I got to see them this past June here in Portland, and they're coming back next week with Unwound. If you have the chance to see them since their reformation, I very highly recommend it. Also, Noah Landis from Neurosis is doing the sound effects/tape loops.

8No love for The Miracle of Sound in Motion or Some Cocktail Suggestions? Those two are near perfect IMO. Unlistenable has its moments, and it's a great story.M.H wrote: Sun Oct 13, 2024 5:31 am Tuff for me as I really dig Tulip and the Lurch ep quite a bit (mega-angst meets mega-scronk - I like) but think the rest feels very superfluous; especially Unlistenable and all the rinky-dink "experimental" Milk Cult stuff, which I think is utter crap.

9No, I find those two much less hooky and more gimmicky. They are OK, but SPBT degraded still further on Scars... which is dull. Unlistenable is just trash.enframed wrote: Sun Oct 13, 2024 12:59 pmNo love for The Miracle of Sound in Motion or Some Cocktail Suggestions? Those two are near perfect IMO. 10Really really good band. Played a show with them in 93 and saw the Houston reunion show.
This original version is much better than the rerecording.
