42The 65-year-old may be younger or older, but never older than Mick Jagger.Bluegum LaBloat wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2024 12:07 am How about 'The 65-year-old on this album is younger than the person or people older than him.'
I'd rather be throwing darts.

43I know right. Also a brilliant bass player and song (riff) writer. Some Cure songs are All Bob but there’s a lot more input from the band than people realise. Gallop wrote the music for Lovesong.
From memory the band splits all publishing 50% Bob then 50% for the rest of the current band regardless of contribution. Which means even Perry Belmonte will be a very wealthy guy just off Wish.

45I know nothing about the The Cure, but this story in a new Irish punk book is awesome, Robert Smith is a good sort.

47Great story, that. I've always had a lot of respect for Robert. An acquaintance is a huge Cure fan, and has actually gotten to meet with Robert several times. She had nothing but nice things to say about him.
I'd rather be throwing darts.
Re: The Cure: Songs of a Lost World
48Okay, so this came in the mail today. Just in time for X-mas with the fam. Still haven't heard it. Apparently I bought my mom the deluxe version that has the normal album on one CD, the instrumental version on another, and then a Blu-ray disc with the Atmos mix. Searched the PRF here and was surprised to learn there's little discussion of this Atmos beeswax up in here. Wondering aloud how much difference is noticeable listening to an Atmos mix with two-channel/stereo playback and not a surround system. I don't have access to a movie theater rig . . . yet!
Re: The Cure: Songs of a Lost World
49The Atmos is mastered WAY better than the digital or even the LP - much higher dynamic range even in a stereo folddown - so I’d give that a spin if you can.

50Thanks! Will definitely mess with it, then. Cheers.matttkkkk wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 12:38 pm The Atmos is mastered WAY better than the digital or even the LP - much higher dynamic range even in a stereo folddown - so I’d give that a spin if you can.
