Sure but there was a team of people feeding him these awful policies, and a board of directors happily giving their approval. There are dozens of other fleece vest dudes who will gladly take this dude's place (with beefed up security next time) so what was the point of all this.
I would argue that, by extension, any of us with a 401k, IRA, or mutual funds are just as complicit. How much of your retirement is tied up in healthcare? Insurance? Pharmaceuticals?
For starters?

I never kid myself about the fact that, if Christian Hell actually exists, I will have to shovel a couple of decades worth of coal over that very thing.

That said?

It will be after I am finished with an eternities worth of coal because I spent money on any of number of things(cell phones/computers/televisions/you get it...) that were built with practically slave labor.

This isn't true or fair, and it demonstrates that you didn't really mean #1. While Hex's posts may be a bit intense, they aren't incoherent or indicative of mental illness, and if you bothered to read them you'd know that. Which I'm sure you do as you are the king of disingenuousness and bad faith. I'd love to see how you would act if your very existence was being determined by the worst people in the world, but you never will because you're just a basic white guy who likes poker and brewskis with the boys, and who has nothing better to do than wind people up on a messageboard. You are a part of the past that's been kept on life support for too long, a lump of mediocrity propped up in a wheelchair like Hamburger Lady. I do hope you are a smoker and enjoy your red meat.

they're coherent. but some of them would get you put on a watchlist and i don't want that to happen.

i'm the disingenuous one? you called anthony flack a right winger! come on dude. now you're saying morality is the realm of the religious. i want to see someone support you on that one. i'm guessing nobody will because it's ridiculous.

now i have to defend myself i guess...
what's a hamburger lady? yes i love red meat. don't smoke/vape. you're right, i don't care to drink alone. i'm pretty open about all that. we can quibble over the definition of "basic" vs conventional, but that's for another time.
is that the best you got? you barely scratched the surface.

Is this a case for NOT doing it?

Hex and Chud Fusk are right all the way through.
I would not miss those guys at all, and you're missing my point.

Unlike probably oh, the majority of people (so-called leftists included) on this forum, I've never been on Twitter ('scuse me, X; or any social media, unless you count here) nor do I have an Amazon account.

Fuck all that. It's very easy to live like so and opt out. Always has been. (Granted, it's more complicated w/healthcare, but hear me out...)

If people did this en masse, it would make way, way more of a point than just shooting Musk or Bezos. Their enterprises would crumble. But most people are fundamentally lazy, so they'd rather just cheer a murder carried out by somebody else (who did the dirty work)—while totally ignoring the size and scope of the corporation they supposedly hate so much and how and why it actually affects their lives. It's a simplistic, base way of looking at how these things work.

The points I'm trying to make are:

1. I don't want to live in a society where amateur assassins and hired pros (and the best of the latter will be contracted by the very wealthiest, whether you like it or not; can't wait for the rich to get even more militarized!) just fucking shoot people on the street and this becomes all well and normal. Better hope your kids or your Alzheimer's-stricken grandpa don't wander into the trajectory, or a bullet doesn't ricochet. It's fucked-up enough out there as it is, and I probably live a lot closer to the densely populated area where this happened than most of you.

2. Where do you draw the line and how do you prevent a floodgate from opening? We're fucked when every right-wing gun prick decides to stop cosplaying and just kill people he doesn't like. This will be far more problematic than losing the (unmissed by me) CEO of an insurance company. Moral codes and views of so-called justice tend to vary and clash. So before long, you end up having some dumb version of gang-warfare style "hits" being played out, justified by a they-had-it-comin'-good-riddance mentality. People will inevitably disagree over the who and why, and violence is contagious and breeds more violence (as numerous studies of executions, both public and private, have born out since the 1970s).

I think it's amazing that I even have to explain this. But such is the world spawned by (corporate, CEO-run) tech and social media.

My Dad Is Dead's lyrics kinda sorta predicted the barbarism of all this in fucking 1987. Great LP title, to boot:

Agreed on this, if not on some of your other points. The contemporary non-right's unwillingness to do the fucking work is maddening.

Few people are mourning this guy, but “we” tried murdering business leaders and politicians in the 1970s in Europe and LatAm and it just ends up as a spiral of violence that alienates average people from the cause and exacerbates State violence and the right.

You won’t fix US healthcare by murdering insurance executives. It will take hard work convincing politicians to actually act in the interests of the people that elected them.

Right. Like if we normalized this how long would it be before they start coming for our people? My folks have talked about what it was like when Kennedy and MLK were picked off by psychos and the list goes longer than that. It's not a game you win.
