It's left handed and going for 280 with the case. The thing sounds incredible through the pawn shop Crate I played it through.

I play guitar but would like a bass to fart around with, maybe play in a band as just a guy and not a contributing member.
I played a fretless Foundation exclusively for about 10 years. It is a perfectly functional instrument. If you're a lefty then this is a no-brainer.

Fender Super Six just sitting here, waiting to bought:

I don't need this, yet...well I'm posting here, right?

My feeling is that's it's overpriced given the speaker replacements. Ten 30 Celestions I don't have experience with, but what I've read isn't encouraging. Sound like budget speakers that get mushy sound. Any care to weigh in?

Tempted to offer $800 all the same. Tell me again why this is dumb.

There was one for sale here forever and I couldn't tell why there wasn't anything desirable about it - looked cool, all walnut. Glad to hear they're perfectly cromulent.

My experience is pretty limited... I played in a band with a guy who had the 6x10 twin maybe 25 years ago? I remember it being loud and piercing, and that's about it, but I don't think any of us understood how to make amps sound good back then.

There was a 4x12 version sitting in our practice space for several years, it belonged to the bass player of the band with whom we shared the space - I don't think anyone ever bothered to turn it on in that entire time, he eventually sold it. Isaac Brock really loves those things, but I imagine he has people to move that shit around for him.

If it scratches an itch, go for it, says I.

To add on. Conan ahad the Quad Reverb in Replicator for many year. It was a pain in the ass, but it sounded fantastic. It also always sounded loud and clear over our monster drummer with the giant drums.

However, I can't imagine using that if the sheer volume or sound spread wasn't necessary. In a basement, I can't imagine the Super Six would do anything that a Deluxe or Vibrolux wouldn't do in a much more pleasant manner. However, those are much more expensive than the Super Six that's been posted.
