Hi everyone
This is sort of a shot in the dark but I feel like I can recall Steve mentioning once some kind of list or book of commonly used studio microphones from around the 1960s (it could have been a decade earlier or later), featuring the usual suspects, Neumanns, Coles, etc.
I can't remember who created this book or list or whatever it was (I have a vague memory of encountering it maybe in the form of a website? or PDF..)
If anyone knows what the hell I'm blathering about please let me know.

3That looks like a good resource! Thanks for the post. But I don't think it was that...I think it was some book that Steve was referencing from 'back in the day'. I was googling and realised it may have been a BBC book. In the web archive there are a few of these but they are more about microphone types than brands/models. Will keep searching.
