It does, it's an older Radial Big Shot, and it looks like the new version goes for $120+tax.

Cioks DC-7 - I guess I like big box power hog pedals because I find myself having to use my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power as an extension cord with the extra outlet in the back + 9v tuner power lately.

This Cioks power supply looks like it might fit the bill a little better for 9v and over stuff, but will have to see if that works for the specific pedals I’ve been using.

A search doesn’t reveal that much - thoughts?

How many pedals are you using, and what voltages?

I've got the Cioks SOL and haven't had any issues with it. Mostly got it since it was the smallest power supply I could find that would fit under a smaller Pedaltrain board. I haven't really used it for non-9 volt stuff but I did like the layout and installation more than the big ass Voodoo power supply I used to have.

I'm looking for an inexpensive mic that'll mostly be used for recording a snare, and I'm thinking about grabbing a used Audix i5. Are there better options you'd recommend for about $100 or less, or should I pull the trigger?

This'll just be for some low-key recording projects. Unfortunately I'm a jackass and I sold my Beyer m201 a while back, which I'd loved. I'd like to grab another one some time down the line but can't really justify the cost at the moment.

It’s a little over $100 but it would be hard to beat this mic for the price and you could use it for all sorts of stuff.

It was an Albini fav - this is the cardioid only version of the KSM141. I bought used versions like this anytime I saw them for less than $150.

Awesome -- I'm sold. I grabbed the one you linked to, thanks a bunch for the recommendation and the heads up on the deal, I appreciate it.

Sounds like you are sorted but if the Shure above doesnt work out (and i am always a little shocked and dismayed when i see any mic looking that haggard, especially a condensor), the Audix i5 is my current affordable favorite snare mic.

Thats not really an endorsement, its just least worst. I can usually get a serviceable representation with not too much fuss & even more so when combined with a snare side mic. Thats not me bagging on the i5 its just as a drummer i kinda always hated the close miced sound of the snare, never sounds like what i hear when playing or listening to other players.

Havent tried the beyer but I have also been curious about that Lauten one literally called “the snare mic”. All too rich for my blood but still think about trying to find new ones as this is kinda the last code to crack in my personal mic locker. I guess im adding a couple more to my watchlist from this thread.

Yeah that mic is trashed. I've been taping a Lewitt 040 to the top of a SM57 for snare a lot lately. Its hella bright but when mixed with the cardboard twack of a 57 you can do a bright dark balance pretty easily with little EQ. I got a pair on Reverb for like $125 I think. Tiny.
