Big city Canada find for real:
Rebadged Squier Jazzmaster with Fender USA hardware swapped in, bridge is a Classic Player TOM I think, is super fucking comfortable with a flatter radius than I'm used too and sanded down neck. Pickups (assumed stock) are shockingly decent. Cheap heat for the win...
Might have to re-radius my 90s CIJ now.

1002Super cool, MDC!mdc wrote: Thu May 15, 2025 10:02 amI built up this (relatively) cheap JM parts guitar recently and it turned out really nicely.
Re: Micro-reviews of Gear You Just Bought
1003Which model is it? Classic vibe, Mascis? A lot of the recent ones have been great.
Re: Micro-reviews of Gear You Just Bought
1004Also, MDC I put this together last year in kind of the same spirit. 70s Greco neck and a Squier VM HH Jazzmaster body, aftermarket Chinese bridge + pickup and an AVRI neck pickup. I LOVE it, kind of the perfect guitar for me.

Re: Micro-reviews of Gear You Just Bought
1005That guitar looks super cool. Do you ever mix both PUPs together or you always go neck!?
Nothing major here. Just a regular EU cock. I pull it out and there is beans all over my penis. Bean shells all over my penis...
Re: Micro-reviews of Gear You Just Bought
1006Judging by the sub par burst and multi piece body I'd say Classic Vibe? But the neck is v e r y dark so maybe an older version - Dunno!

Squier left, late 90s Japan Jazzblaster right... Weird or What.

1007I'm not a maple neck fan (aesthetically) but that thing is serious.matttkkkk wrote: Sun May 18, 2025 8:18 pm Also, MDC I put this together last year in kind of the same spirit. 70s Greco neck and a Squier VM HH Jazzmaster body, aftermarket Chinese bridge + pickup and an AVRI neck pickup. 1009Thanks! I made it as a counterpart to my alltime favourite MIJ Squier from the same factory (on the left here):
And Lu, thanks also! I generally like neck and the AVRI is great, but the cheap-ass $25 Chinese bridge pickup is actually fantastic, and they blend really well. I was amazed at the quality, seems to use all traditional materials and has the right amount of spank and snarl. Got it off eBay.

Re: Micro-reviews of Gear You Just Bought
1010This rips! I was initially looking for a black body to put the maple neck on so they would’ve truly been twins, but this gold one presented itself first.matttkkkk wrote: Sun May 18, 2025 8:18 pm Also, MDC I put this together last year in kind of the same spirit. 70s Greco neck and a Squier VM HH Jazzmaster body, aftermarket Chinese bridge + pickup and an AVRI neck pickup.
