I love the Mosley era. Never got onboard with Patton’s voice, which always seemed a little too self-aware. Introduce Yourself is a perfect album IMO, but it’s tied to a lot of good associations that make me partial. Solid not crap for that album alone.
I wish I could get into Patton’s voice. I’m sure I’ve missed out on some good stuff. I have the same problem with Radiohead.
Re: Band: Faith No More
12They were one of the early metal bands that I got into. Angel Dust is the only one I'd bother with from the Patton era now. NC.
I'd rather be throwing darts.
Re: Band: Faith No More
13Everything to me is very ugly sounding from guitar and keyboard tones to Pattons absurd voice and antics. They are kinda a band you would expect if Guns and Roses met in a community college art history class. Mr. Bungle is RHCP for people who hate RHCP, and I hate both. Never heard any Faith No More without Patton, but I'd guess it is crap too, but not as bad crap.

Re: Band: Faith No More
15I was never a proper fan of them, but I always find myself liking a new song by them that I hadn't heard. If I put on "Angeldust" for a long car ride after not hearing it for a while, I'm usually pretty into it. When I was in the throes of alcoholism, I related to "The Real Thing" (the song) a lot.

17Introduce yourself is a banger after banger record. Just perfect.PASTA wrote: Thu Jul 31, 2025 5:38 pmhttps://youtu.be/w7dD-JJJytM?si=1Xhm8EFzmsNR8nVdKniferide wrote: Thu Jul 31, 2025 10:39 am Everything to me is very ugly sounding from guitar and keyboard tones to Pattons absurd voice and antics. Chinese arithmetic, c'mon. It's impossible not to like that song.
Re: Band: Faith No More
18everything about that song is terrible. Every single thing. Maybe even worse than with Patton, which is something I thought I would never say.PASTA wrote: Thu Jul 31, 2025 5:38 pmhttps://youtu.be/w7dD-JJJytM?si=1Xhm8EFzmsNR8nVdKniferide wrote: Thu Jul 31, 2025 10:39 am Everything to me is very ugly sounding from guitar and keyboard tones to Pattons absurd voice and antics. 20I can understand a lot of people not connecting with the weird funkyness of Anne's song and Mosely delivery but really, try any other track from Introduce Yourself, in case you haven't done it before.Kniferide wrote: Fri Aug 01, 2025 6:46 pmeverything about that song is terrible.
