Nail on head. If they had a different bassist and no keyboards they could have been on to something.
This is basically King for a Day. Keyboardist wasn’t really present and there’s no slap.
Okay. If that’s true I will give it a shot and report back.
Yeah, not for me.

llllllllllllllllllll wrote: Sat Aug 16, 2025 10:51 am I’d to know exactly what albums y'all are listening to because Faith No More is closer to “the Final Countdown” than anything The Jesus Lizard ever did.

I’m not even a noise rock guy and the difference is plain. Granted, I’m not a funk metal guy either, but I have ears!
Tomahawk, the band with Patton on vocals and Denison on guitar, basically sounds like King for a Day FNM crossed with some TJL to my ears, but your mileage may vary.

"The Final Countdown" is not crap, by the way. Any Bryan Danielson fan will tell you that.

Everybody should like what they want, but some Patton fans get so fucking weird and defensive on here.

It’s like a band alternating between sounding like Red Hot Chili Peppers and late 90’s modern rock radio isn’t reason enough to hate them, there’s gotta be some other reason for everybody else’s dislike:
  • Faith No More is too popular
  • Faith No More is not on Touch and Go
  • Faith No More is “too insincere”
  • Faith No More’s phase where they were ripping off the Red Hot Chili Peppers wholesale shouldn’t be held against them
  • the Jesus Lizard (?) and Mozart (?!)
  • the average age of posters here
This thread isn’t even about Faith No More anymore. You like these terrible records, you should just own it. Also I googled it and most of Faith No More are a few years away from qualifying for medicare.

AND go ahead and act like the rap metal thing was a joke or whatever. You wish.

No traces or funkmetal either.

Maybe I should've specified "...compared to their previous output"

C'mon, 14 songs on that album and you put one of the few that has SOME piano/keyboards (for good use methinks, decent song) and the only one that has some funkyness to it and it is clearly not representative of any funkmetal trendiness, in fact it has more of a 70's flavor.

Living Colour have plenty of good songs.

Mr. Bungle is tho
Also, that shirt is all kinds of wrong. Pulp is definitely sex music for a certain demographic, and a certain kind of sex.
Alas, I am somewhat unfamiliar with the musical stylings of Pulp - the fabulous pairing on "Capitol" with Daniel Knox notwithstanding. What kinda sex and demographic are we talkin' 'bout?

EDIT: I voted C on FNM but if asked would gladly vote NC on Bungle
Justice for Kyle Bassinga, Da'Quain Johnson, Logan Sharpe, Qaadir & Nazir Lewis, Emily Pike, Sam Nordquist, Randall Adjessom, Javion Magee, Destinii Hope, Kelaia Turner, Dexter Wade, Nakari Campbell, Sara Millerey González

Bungle is definitely an anti sex band.

Santana is sexy if you’re Patrick Bateman.
