Every fucking time. Great American cliche, amounting to absolutely nothing constructive regardless of one's politics.

Robert Sylvester, another longtime neighbor, said he knew the suspect from small interactions over the years. Once, Sylvester recalled, Tyler helped him look for a water shutoff valve after a leak.
“He was quiet − we didn’t really communicate back and forth,” Sylvester said. “A lot of people call that politeness. He was so introverted I didn’t look at it as polite, I looked at is as off, or strange.”
I always play this song whenever this happens. Proving that despite everyone's amped-up social-media bullshit, very little has changed since the '80s:

I won't say "watch the video" but I saw it and it looks like it does hit him in the chest and ricochet. His shirt ripples as if there was an impact.
The irony is that it hit him on the right and would be a survivable shot if he weren't wearing a vest.
i work with someone who is former military, former police and was on a call with him right after the videos started coming in. I mentioned how much it reminded me of the first shot that hit Kennedy (in the throat) and he immediately said “looks to me like it hit his chest, he was wearing a vest and it went up and into his neck” - sounds like that is exactly what happened.
the kid was not left wing. he wasn’t anti-fascist. he was terminally online and grew up around weapons (so many photos of him with guns) and something set him off about Kirk.
i really wish this would start an honest conversation about the many issues at hand, but it won’t. so instead we’ll just move on until the next one and hope it’s not someone we love.

Man, I don't know if this belongs in the politics thread, but i can't get over what a good shot that dude was.
Over 100 yards. Even on a clear day you'll have wind. I don't know who could make that shot, personally, and I grew up with some major dudes with that shit.
It's wild to me he pulled that off.
I don't know, it's second-hand but Matt Lech of the Majority Report was talking about being an unenthusiastic teen hunter in ND and bagging a deer at 175 yards, and that's a moving target etc. They also mentioned that the shot apparently deflected up off of Kirk's bullet-proof vest slightly into the neck, was maybe not what the shooter was aiming for.
If you have ever been a 22-year-old drifter with a chip on your shoulder, shakey sense of superiority and the feeling that the odds are stacked against you to make some kind of mark on this world and time is running out (which is entirely untrue but subjectively real) it is not hard to understand guys like this or Oswald, or countless other very young men who do similar things.
Also, whole lot of baking going on in this thread, seems really to have captured the whole spectrum now.
Ammosexuals are talking it up like 200 yards is trivial. Or at the very least not that remarkable if you have some proficiency, not necessarily professional sniper level. I have no idea myself.
What do you mean by "baking"?
Baking is the instant conspiracy stuff, interpreting, it was Mossad, Ghislane ordered it, all that 80-levels-deep with no substance stuff.
Apparently Kirk was very hated, violently so, among the Groyper scene, at least up until a couple of years ago when he went all in on The Great Replacement etc. That angle is not implausible.

I wonder why they hated Kirk. Cuz he got all the attention from daddy?

PS: Thanks for the video link.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if this guy turns out to be a rival Christofascist. Demented TACO will still blame it on "Radical Left Lunatics!!!!! #Gropecoin".
