Re: Podcast Recommendations
103Thanks, I'm actually really interested in that. Big fan of LC and VR as a youth. I think Billy is a very solid interviewer and charming (!) in the role from what I've seen. Anything that starts off with talk of Ronald Shannon Jackson is very welcome.
Re: Podcast Recommendations
104Oh my god, they're talking about Coltrane and I'm thinking of this Navy picture of him and then Reid brings it up for the exact same reason. Good stuff.

Regular reminder that you really need to drop in on:
Death is just around the corner
Echo’s bones
The original conceit was kind of a late night AM radio broadcast at the end of the world, but that was dropped fairly quickly.
His pods regularly destroy me, especially a recent-ish one where he went after WASP assholes cosplaying as catholic converts - being born catholic deeply traumatized me as a child, and hearing him lay it all out was both horrific and enormously compelling.
LIYL: bowie, scott walker, pynchon, religion, william t vollman, delillo, bolano, djuna barnes, william s burroughs, dos passos, Iain Sinclair, J G Ballard, esotericism, hermeneutics, marx
His ‘pean counterpart is Ghost Stories at the End of the World, similar in some ways. Worth a listen and goes down a bit easier - his subjects are much mote historical
I can’t think of any podcasts with NPR production values that will be anything but embarrassing in some years time, but these are one for the books.

Re: Podcast Recommendations
107I tried to start the Gravity's Rainbow run (or maybe it was JFK? can't remember) for "Death is just around the corner" a couple times based on the rec here, but couldn't find a proper archive. Is it out there, or do you have to subscribe to Patreon or similar?
