I'm guessing Major got his new tubes a while ago.
For 6L6's, I like the new JJ's and the oldschool RCA's, though you're not gonna have the easiest time finding a matched quad of those for cheap.
We've been using JJ 6L6-GC's in Matt's YBA-3 for a while now, I dunno, a year or something, with good results and no problems.
