I recall a Rolling Stone article re this record's name. It was originally titled Wanted Dead or Alive. Then the Jovians were told they needed to attract female fans and sell more records. Slippery When Wet apparently provoked female consumers.

Bon Jovi is Crap.

I hate everything about a band like Bon Jovi as much as anyone on Earth, but I'll always stop and listen to 'Wanted dead or alive' when it comes on the radio.
For that kinda bullshit it is somewhat enjoyable to me for whatever reason. I think it's because it's so insanely dumb and cheesy yet I get the feeling they mean it, I can picture them in the studio going 'fuck yeah!' and high fiving each other....and are under the assumption they were the first band ever to write a song about how hard being on 'the road' is. That I like, it makes me smile.
Fuck Bon Jovi in pretty much every other regard.

bon jovi seems nice, has good teeth and that one triumph the comic dog sketch was a kinda funny. is that enough to not crap him? maybe not. but i was really into that slippery when wet cassette when i was quite young. i was totally in love with richie sambora because my best friend's mom (she was only like 20, this was in texarkana) loved him, george strait, miami vice and horse racing. i thought she had great taste. every time i'd go into a pizza inn bon jovi was the first thing i'd head for on the jukebox. he's a mound of crap but i will still vote nc for nostalgia.

Occasional comedy moments, but even those are crap.
