Every UPC code has, built into it, the number 666. The first two bars are a 6, the middle two bars are a 6, and the last two bars are a 6. This is the format for a UPC code. You can find all manner of shit online about it, and confirm it by looking up the definition of what number each bar pairing represents, and then looking at anything you have handy with a UPC code on it.

They all have 666.

So clocker bob, do you know any good conspiracies about the UPC 666 conspiracy? Like the conspiracy was actually made up by pirates who were trying to catch a faerie in a jar or something?

Snopes says no on the UPC 666:

Claim: The infamous number '666' appears in all product barcodes.

Status: False.

Origins: "No one could buy or sell unless he had this mark, that is, the beast's name or the number that stands for his name." -- Revelation 13:17-18

Contrary to popular myth, no bar code includes the number 666. This belief arose because the number six is represented by a pattern similar to that of the guard bars used to mark the beginning, middle, and end of every bar code. Since the guard bars always appear three times in a given bar code, people who mistakenly read them as sixes claimed that the pattern 6-6-6 was embedded in every bar code. However, if you look closely at the '6' in a bar code, you will see that there is a wide white bar either to the left or the right of its pattern (depending upon where within the bar code the number is positioned), which is not the case with the guard bars. The only numbers on the bar code which are scanned are those shown in the conventional numerals underneath it.

It's a silly rumor. If they were collaborating with Satan to enslave us, they would not be so transparent, and Satan would not follow the pattern of warnings laid out in Revelations, he would evade it.

Whuh? So you're saying that if I wrote the number 1462 as 14 62 or 146 2 then that would somehow change the fact that it begins with a 1, ends with a 2, and has a 4 and 6 between them?

That explanation on Snopes is kinda stupid. The first last and middle "guard bars" are absolutely the same thickness and spacing as the number 6. If the number 6 will include blank space either before or after the two bars that mean "6", that doesn't change the fact that the guard bars are still the number 6, only without any space.

And FWIW, I'm looking at a bar code right now, from some really tasty lemon cake, that has two sixes in the actual code, one of them with this blank space to the right of it, and the other *with no blank space on either side*. So what snopes said makes even less sense, now.

I don't think it's any kinda evil conspiracy or devil shit or nothin. But I think snopes kinda screwed the pooch on this one.

Maybe that's the conspiracy about the conspiracy? That Snopes is falsely debunking it so people think it's not legit, but really it is and Snopes is misleading the poor disheveled masses?

I read the snopes explanation and I read the biblical crowd's warnings about the UPC. Both could be right, it depends on to what level you interpret the bars. If you ignore the guard bars, then yes, there is a 6-6-6 on every code, but they are modified by the guard bars to become other numbers- or is that wrong?

Either way, until we get our matching injectable biometric tracking/purchase/transmitter chips in the pouch behind our inner ears, we are not bound to observe the devil's bar code to eat.

Snopes could engage in counter-conspiracy conspiracies, as you suggest. Muddying the waters if the waters have been exposed is a trusted tactic.

No, the guard bars *ARE* the three 6's. There is one at the beginning, one in the middle, and one at the end. Look at any UPC code, and you'll see in the beginning, middle, and end, there are a pair of bars that are longer than any of the others; they extend down lower than the written-out numbers. And they are identical to the two-bar pattern that defines the number 6.

And as far as Snopes' explanation about how the number 6 always has a space before or after it when it's in the UPC code, and the guard bars don't have spaces before or after them, that assertion was proven false by the second UPC code I looked at, which has a number 6 in it with no blank space before or after it.

I'm not saying it's got anything to do with anything. I'm just saying that the UPC codes do in fact have guard bars that are identical to the code for "6", on in the beginning, one in the middle, and one in the end, always. And that Snopes debunking of this is not accurate with UPC codes in the real world, based on the second one I looked at invalidating what they cite as evidence that there isn't a 666.

As far as the chip, that shit is just plain whack. And FYI, the bible verse that references all this stuff is in Revelation, and it says that the mark will be either in your forehead or the palm of your hand. Not behind your ear. Just FYI.

You're right, I misworded my response cuz I'm busy at work and not being particularly careful in this goof-around thread. The guard bars *are* the beastly bars- in every UPC code, right?

Right, the mark, but do you interpret the mark and the bio-chip to be one and the same? I should say that I don't read the bible myself so I'm way out of my depth on these subjects. That only occasionally stops me from having opinions.
