Andrew WK was standing next to me at an AC/DC show a few years ago here in NYC at the Roseland. He seemed like an extremely nice fellow, gladly chatting with everyone who recognized him. And he had good taste in music that night...

I'd be really surprised if he's been affiliated with Bulb for ten years, seeing as he might be 25 now, but regardless, it's pretty impressive what he's done in the last several years. Was fortunate enough to spend some time with him after a show a couple years ago and really got to see the true intentions of the guy. Overall very nice indeed. He'll often stay up with fans until 3 or 4 in the morning after a show to talk with everyone who's been waiting, even if he has a show in another city the next day. Also, if you take a look at his website which lists all of his previous shows in the last few years, he crams in a good 200 dates into a year. Maybe buses are more comfortable than I've given them credit for! I'll be seeing him play in a few weeks, I'm curious to see if he's slowing down at his shows at all. At least now he has more than 10 songs that he can sing!

"If You're Gonna Party, Then You Gotta Party Hard" makes Kiss look like The Goo Goo Dolls.

I'm pretty sure he has been friends with the Bulb/Wolf Eyes Michigan noise guys since high school. I once talked to John Olsen of Wolf Eyes and he said Andrew had this idea for a band "where every song would have the word 'party' in it" a long, long time ago, and stuck with it to its fruition.

I watched some of the MTV Andrew W.K. advice show last night. Highly recommended. There was one letter he got from a guy who said "me and my bros got jumped and beat up by some dudes from our rival high school. What's the best way to get revenge on them without going to jail?" Andrew's answer was, "The best way to get revenge on them is to live the rest of your life as happily, positively, and free of fear as possible!"

'Tis true. I know because I'm going along for the ride.

Don Fleming is joining The Shave as well. Here are the tour dates:

Sept. 10 Brooklyn, Northsix
Sept. 11 Baltimore, Twig and Carly's Place
Sept. 12 Newport, KY, Southgate House
Sept. 13 Chicago, Empty Bottle
Sept. 14 (somewhere in Detriot/Ann Arbor area)
Sept. 15 Rochester, NY, Bug Jar
Sept. 16 Northampton (I forgot where)
Sept. 17 Providence, AS200
Sept. 18 NYC, Tonic
Sept. 19 Jersey City, WFMU sesh, then a post-tour bash

I saw TLASILA's last show at the Cooler four years ago, and it was a total mindblow. Not even Bebe Buell sitting in with Foot topped it.

One of these days I'd be really happy if these acts wouldn't skip Minneapolis. I mean, yeah, it looks like they were just coming out to Chicago and back, but still....bring it to the Twin Cities!
