We should swap campaigns and see how each group got through them.

I've been going through my old rulebooks and manuals trying to figure out which edition I wanna play... I'm leaning toward the 1978 "Holmes" edition of the Basic rules with a tad of Advanced stuff thrown in to make it interesting... The simplicity of this edition is great and should make for a fun and efficient gaming experience.

As much as I love AD&D I think after all these years it'll end up a pretty slow and dull game trying constantly to reference arcane rules in the middle of play.

Would be fun to run the early B1, B2 Modules then move onto the A series... As I'm in no shape to be designing dungeons and shit at this stage in my life.

I guess this is all assuming I will be DMing... Which I hope not to. But I'm good and will do if nobody else wants to DM an original or 1st edition campaign...

I've been reading some good stuff here:

I could give DMing a try. I used to do it, but rarely, so I might not be spectacular or anything. I'd be willing to try and do some modules/dungeons, but try is important here as I could conceivably not get it done. I found a torrent with a butt load of old out of print DND stuff too.

TheMilford wrote:Yeah my cousins sorta played a little... but My Aunt was super cool... for my 13th birthday, before she moved away to Arizona I had begged her to DM one last adventure with my now junior-high school buddies... casue I would alway rave about how awesome my childhood adventures were with the family...

She and I picked out a module at the local Waldenbooks:

I'm jealous of your cool ass family. Especially after getting this awesome email from my uncle:

U.S. Government to Release New Dollar Coins

You guessed it
'IN GOD WE TRUST'
IS GONE!!!

If ever there was a reason to boycott something, THIS IS IT!!!!

DO NOT ACCEPT THE NEW DOLLAR COINS AS CHANGE

Together we can force them out of circulation.
Please send to all on you mail list !!!

You better believe "I" will !!!!!

I have extra copies of DMG, PH, and MM plus the older Basic rules which I mention above...

I take it you know how to care for old fragile books?
