There's some other stuff out there besides these albums, too, including some other albums.

They've got a pretty good list there.

If only for "Valentine Card/Kantina/Were, Are And Was Or Is"

This is a great song, but I would still go with Leaves. . ..

Does anyone have the Tape Op article from around when that record came out they could scan and post?

This is a fine idea. Get working! :)

Have you noticed the bongos yet? Bongos! Set prefectly in the mix, I'd say. Why are they even there? I love a band who bothers with that level of intricacy.

Is there a better band to listen to in the fall/winter?

If only I wasn't lazy, or didn't have a list of like 50 things I need to do yesterday.

1st) Repetition
2nd) Leaves Turns Inside You

Actually, the song that turn me on this band was Demons Sing Love Songs. That's a killer tune

I saw a live Unwound record at the store today. It didn't have a tracklisting, venue listed, or anything of a sleeve, really. Just a record in a bag.

Anybody know anything about this? Should I go back and get it?

The best thing by far they ever did was the light at the end of the tunnel EP. I love love love that record.
I sent them a letter telling them how I love their more dubby/psychedelic experiments and I know they must have more of that shit and they sent me a cassette of a ton of that kind of stuff, them doing some stoned (I'm sure) jamming and some weird tape loops and whatnot.
Scott, I will find it for you and make you a copy.
The future of what is an excellent record as is repetition.

I really hate Leaves turn inside you, I think it's a terrible record. Long and slow and plodding, goes nowhere, sounds like shit.

I love the Replikants Slickaphonics record too a real lot, if you don't have it get it right now.

One of the reasons I posted this thread was because I felt the same way as you until this fall/winter. I liked Leaves okay, but I would rather have listened to Repetition or Challenge for a Civilized Society in a heartbeat. Those latter two records gave me a perfect boner.

As a huge fan of Slint, Shellac, Tar, etc...the organic Albizzono sound...I was really put off by the sound of Leaves. Somehow, I came around to the whole record recently.

In any case, Unwound is like one of the premier '90s bands for me...I don't put Polvo on the same level at all (of course, I've never really given a damn about Polvo [maybe I'll come around Leaves style]).

I doubt it, Polvo are horrible

I have tried several times to pull Leaves out and get into it but I can't, I really hate the way it's recorded. Sounds very amateurish to me. I almost liked the first song on it but then halfway through I lost it, got bored.
